It is used to treat adults and children (including infants) who have been suddenly exposed to high doses of radiation, a condition called hematopoietic sub синдrom of acute radiation syndrome (H-ARS). It is also indicated to improve blood cell counts in patients with certain blood cancers undergoing chemotherapy or after a bone marrow transplant.
