This medicine is used in adults for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), other chronic fibrosing interstitial lung diseases (ILD) with a progressive phenotype, and interstitial lung disease associated with systemic sclerosis (SSc-ILD). It helps to reduce the further appearance of scarring and the stiffening of the lungs.

It is prescribed to adults who have had a heart attack more than a year ago or who suffer from unstable angina. It is used to reduce the risk of a new heart attack, stroke, or death from heart or vascular disease.
