This heart medicine is used for the treatment of stable angina pectoris (chest pain) in adult patients with a heart rate equal to or greater than 70 beats per minute who cannot take or do not tolerate beta-blockers. It is also used for chronic heart failure in adult patients with a heart rate greater than or equal to 75 beats per minute.
