It is an anticancer drug used for the treatment of brain tumors called astrocytoma or oligodendroglioma in adults and adolescents (from 12 years of age and older) weighing at least 40 kg, who have undergone surgery and do not require immediate radiotherapy or chemotherapy. It is used only if the tumor cells present specific mutations of the IDH1 or IDH2 genes.
