trametinib

It is used to treat a type of skin cancer called melanoma that has spread to other parts of the body or cannot be surgically removed. It can be used alone or in combination with dabrafenib. In combination with dabrafenib, it is also used to prevent the recurrence of melanoma after surgery and to treat a type of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), provided the BRAF gene mutation is present.

Spexotras is used in children aged 1 year and older to treat a type of brain tumor called glioma (low-grade or high-grade if the patient has already received radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy), in association with another medicine called dabrafenib. The treatment is indicated for patients with a specific BRAF gene mutation.
