This medicine is used to treat hemangioma, a mass formed by a tangle of blood vessels on or under the skin (often called a 'strawberry mark'). It is prescribed to children between 5 weeks and 5 months of age when the lesion threatens life or vital functions (such as sight or hearing), is ulcerated and painful, or carries a risk of permanent scarring and deformity.
