    It is a vaccine used to protect children (from 6 weeks to 17 years) and adults (from 18 years onwards) from diseases such as meningitis, sepsis or bacteremia, and pneumonia caused by thirteen types of Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria. In children, it also protects against ear infections caused by these specific types of bacteria.
