    Pegasys is used for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B or C in adults. In adults, it is also indicated for polycythemia vera or essential thrombocythemia. In children and adolescents, it is used for chronic hepatitis B (from 3 years of age and older) and for chronic hepatitis C (from 5 years of age and older).
