This medicinal product is used for the treatment of mental disorders, in particular to prevent relapses of bipolar disorder (characterized by swings between euphoria and depression) and depressive episodes. It may also be used to treat states of abnormal euphoria (manic episodes), possibly in combination with other antipsychotic drugs.
