This medicine is used for the treatment of certain types of cancer, including chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL), gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP), hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES), and chronic eosinophilic leukemia (CEL), as well as certain myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative diseases (MDS/MPD).
