    It is used to prevent immunization in Rh(D)-negative women during pregnancy (or immediately after childbirth) when the fetus is Rh(D)-positive or if there is a risk of contact between the two blood systems. It is also used in Rh(D)-negative adults, children, or adolescents who have accidentally received Rh(D)-positive blood transfusions.
